FRANCIS POLANSKY
After completing his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Stanford University, Dr. Polansky stayed on to help start Stanford's in vitro fertilization program in 1985.
He ventured out to start Nova in 1987 where he has continued to provide advanced reproductive treatments.
Dr. Polansky was board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1986 and in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in 1988. He is a member of various Reproductive Medicine societies.
In 1986 he received the "Outstanding Professor of the Teaching Faculty, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Stanford University" award.
In his free time, he is an avid runner and a bicyclist. He loves to spend time with his family. And no, he does not know how to play golf...
RICHARD SCHMIDT
Dr. Schmidt received his undergraduate degree at Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo and received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his residency and special infertility training at Valley Medical Center in San Jose and at Nova IVF with Dr. Polansky.
Dr. Schmidt joined the Nova team in January 1997. He is a Clinical Director and Laboratory Director at Nova IVF. Dr. Schmidt is also an IVF embryology laboratory inspector.
His complete dedication to his patients is reflected in his leadership roles. He emphasizes the uniqueness of every patient and the importance of individualized treatments for patients to maximize their chances of success.
When not taking care of his patients at Nova IVF, Dr. Schmidt is a family man and he enjoys soccer, biking and the only golf he gets in is at the driving range.
EVE SHEN
Ms. Shen, one of the most senior embryologists in the country, heads the Nova IVF Laboratory. Eve developed the second oldest IVF center in the nation at University of Texas in Houston. In 1985 she was hired by Stanford University to build their IVF program. Eve then moved on to start Nova in 1987.
Eve's extensive training in human embryology has been finely tuned over the past twenty-five years making her an expert embryologist. Besides her duties at Nova IVF, Eve is a national IVF embryology laboratory inspector. Her expertise is balanced with sensitivity. She believes that every embryo is unique and precious because of the potential it holds.
