ICSI

ICSI or intracytoplasmic sperm injection is a micromanipulation technique developed to help couples with male factor infertility or couples whose infertility is unexplained. ICSI has allowed infertile men, who would not have been able to cause a pregnancy in the past, to father children.

ICSI is a very precise micromanipulation procedure in which a single live sperm is deposited directly into the center of a human egg. ICSI has been used in IVF and advanced reproductive treatments since 1993.

You will be scheduled for the ICSI procedure if your infertility history suggests the possibility of a male factor significant enough to keep the eggs from being fertilized using regular laboratory methods.
