Fibroids can be found in three different locations: the outer surface of the uterus, fully contained within the uterine wall and within the endometrial cavity inside the uterus.
In the first two locations, they will not necessarily make it harder for conception to take place. On the other hand, myomas inside the endometrial cavity can drastically reduce the probability of implantation.

We carefully screen our patients for the presence and the location of myomas. If intrauterine myomas are found, there is typically a simple surgical procedure to have them removed. The healing after the removal of fibroids is so rapid that undergoing the removal surgery does not typically alter the time-line of the infertility treatment.
Please contact us if you would like any additional information regarding uterine fibroids or any other areas of infertility.
